Building a Legacy of Service in Chilton County
As part of United Way of Central Alabama’s 100th anniversary celebration, United Way Hands On is proud to help build the Chilton County Centennial Park—a lasting symbol of community, volunteerism and connection designed to bring people together across generations, providing a safe, beautiful place to gather, play and grow.
Site work is anticipated to begin in late November 2025, with a community ribbon cutting celebration planned for early January 2026.
How You Can HelpIntroducing the United Way Chilton County Centennial Park
In celebration of its centennial anniversary in 2023, United Way of Central Alabama launched the Centennial Parks initiative to create accessible recreational spaces that foster community connections and enhance quality of life. Following the successful completion of parks in Jefferson, Shelby and Walker counties, construction is now underway for Blount County’s Centennial Park.
Designed to meet the unique needs of the community, this park will feature amenities such as outdoor classrooms, sports fields, recreation areas, and green spaces, providing residents with a vibrant hub for recreation and connection.
Located in Chilton County, this revitalized park will feature:
- A pavilion with picnic tables that doubles as an outdoor classroom for community use
- Playground equipment that encourages recreation, imagination and healthy activity for children
- Raised garden beds that provide hands-on opportunities for learning and engagement
- Picnic areas designed and built by local volunteers to promote togetherness and well-being
