Dear Friends of Ignite,
I hope you were able to join us last Thursday for our Ignite 5th Year Anniversary Celebration. In case you missed it, you can watch it NOW.
For those who joined us, thank you! Even though we had to go totally virtual again this year, we were able to truly honor our 2020 recipients for the first time. We were also able to illuminate past years’ recipients through photos. Volunteers are the goodness, light and hope for our community; and it is a privilege to bring them to the forefront and showcase their incredible impact each year.
During our Facebook Live celebration, we announced the need for a fully equipped mobile tool trailer to help United Way Hands On volunteers be better prepared as they serve our growing community, which now consists of six counties. In lieu of the $35 cost of an Ignite ticket, we asked for donations to go toward the purchase of a trailer stocked with supplies, such as hammers, nails, lumber, paint, paint brushes, trash bags, brooms, mops, etc. We would greatly appreciate your help in making our Mobile Tool Trailer a reality.
It is our sincere hope that we will be together in the same space next year to honor the volunteers who work tirelessly to help others. We will open nominations for 2022 on September 1, 2021. Please help us honor these deserving unsung heroes by nominating those you know who make a positive impact. A request for nominations is forthcoming, so be thinking about who you believe deserves to be honored.
Thank you for your ongoing support and your help with our much-needed trailer. We hope to see you in person in 2022, if not before!
Sincerely,
Benga Harrison
