United Way Offers Summer Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

Looking for Summer Volunteer Opportunities for Your Teen? We’ve Got You Covered.

At United Way Hands On, we make it easy for teens to have a meaningful summer by connecting them with hands-on volunteer projects that give back. Whether they are sorting donations, supporting a local event or helping out at a community site, every project helps build a stronger Central Alabama.

Summer is the perfect time for students to get involved. When school is out, volunteering gives teens purpose and helps them see that what they do truly matters. It’s not just about filling time—it’s about building leadership, making connections, and gaining experience that lasts well beyond the summer.

“With a student being out of school, it’s a really great time for them to find something, and they realize what they’re doing matters,” shared Rachael Upton, Director of Volunteer Engagement. “If they’re interested in building their skills or getting involved in an event, summer is a really great time to volunteer.”
