Since 2008, Amber Anderson has played an important role in supporting the students of UAB and Central Alabama as a whole. She has served as fundraising chair for the Minority Health Research Center, which works to reduce health disparities in vulnerable populations and disadvantaged communities and has been involved with several other organizations at the university, as well. She has also been instrumental in working with local retailers to fill a significant need for UAB students in preparation for their careers: access to affordable, professional clothing for those with limited funds.
